The Astronomy Yellow Pages are a single-page listing of over 300 businesses that specialize in serving amateur astronomers. Resembling the familiar look of your telephone yellow pages, we strive to keep The Astronomy Yellow Pages the most complete and accessible index of astronomy-related businesses on the Internet.

A basic listing in The Astronomy Yellow Pages is free. However, like your telephone yellow pages, space has been reserved for paid display ads.

A display ad, what you get – Exposure

The Astronomy Yellow Pages are viewed, on average, over 1,000 times per month.* This number may seem small but is actually quite respectable for a niche-market website. In fact, AmSky is consistently in the top 3% off websites tracked by our tracking service. The Astronomy Yellow Pages also consistently place at the top of search engine results when searching for astronomy businesses. We expect these numbers to increase over the next months as more astronomy-related websites add links to us. In addition, heading display ads are repeated on several other feature pages at AmSky increasing the exposure to approximately 3,000 times per month (see heading display ads below).

Unlike typical websites, AmSky will not have annoying click-through banners. Instead, like traditional magazines, AmSky has display ads that put a positive light on your business, giving your business more favorable exposure so when potential customers are ready to buy, they think of you.

While traffic to The Astronomy Yellow Pages is moderate our display ad prices are correspondingly low. You can place a display ad for as little as $10.00 per month. Of course, prices are subject to change as traffic increases.

Types of display ads

Classified display ads

Each classified category has space for display ads on the right side of the page. Your ad will be placed in your businesses category on a first-come-first-served basis. We may also arrange ads to efficiently utilize space.

Heading display ads

Space is reserved near the top of The Astronomy Yellow Pages for up to three display ads. These spaces may be combined to create a single ad taking the width of two or three normal ads. Space may be expanded to accommodate more ads as needed.

If you place a heading display ad it is repeated free in your primary business category. (if your ad is custom-sized it may have to be modified to fit available space in the category area). In addition, heading display ads are duplicated at the top of The Astronomy White Pages (whitepages.amsky.com), AmSky Magazine (www.amsky.com), and The Astronomy Events Calendar (events.amsky.com). These ads are also repeated on The Astronomy Classifieds (classifieds.amsky.com). Because of the marketing model of The Astronomy Classified Ads, display ads repeated there are 160X95 pixels. At this time, all pages with the heading display ads are viewed approximately 3,000 times a month.

Multiple categories

If you want your display ad to appear in multiple categories, each extra ad is half-price.

Astronomy Classified Ads

Commercial ads are normally forbidden in the Astronomy Classified Ads and are quickly removed. However, companies that place display ads in The Astronomy Yellow Pages are excepted. We have set no limits or guidelines for such ads. However, please keep in mind that the Astronomy Classified Ads are intended to be a non-commercial marketplace for astronomy clubs. Please help us maintain the quality of this feature. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time.

Size

Display ads are available in the following standard sizes. The actual size seen by readers depends on their monitor size and resolution. As a comparison, the 250 X 150 ad is about the size of a business card on a 15 inch monitor at 800 X 600 resolution. Custom sizes are available. See below for all rates.
