North American SNJ-5 Advanced Trainer

This two-person aircraft was used in the final stages of pilot training in all branches of the U.S. military in World War II. It was known as the SNJ in the Navy, the T-6 Texan in the Air Force, and the Harvard in the RAF. Air Group One's SNJ is affectionately nicknamed "Sassy," and used to wear tan and green British camouflage markings (complete with sharkmouth!).

The aircraft underwent an engine replacement and is now brought back to flying status. More recently, her renovation included a new paint job in this airframe's authentic U.S. Navy paint scheme, as she originally appeared during WWII.

SNJ "Sassy" as she was under restoration. Note the removed cowling pieces (with sharkmouth) nearby on the floor.
