CURRENT AIR GROUP ONE PROJECTS
Air Group One is always busy. We have a number of short-term and on-going projects that we are working on, and we could use some help. Join us to meet great people and help preserve the history of the people and planes of World War II.
1) We have recently completed the restoration of our SNJ trainer. This included a complete engine change, and a great new paint job.
2) We are looking for a spare warbird fuselage or nose section that we could renovate and trailer to airshows. The display could be used to sell photos of people in the cockpit. This could be done without endangering any of our operating aircraft. If you have information on where we could acquire a warbird fuselage section, please contact us.
3) Air Group One member volunteers are always needed to help man our PX when we take it on the road to different military and civilian airshows around Southern California. The income generated by our PX is a valuable addition for our museum/hangar maintenance and operations.
4) Members are encouraged to assist with the maintenance and restoration of our museum displays. This includes repair and cleaning of our aircraft models, as well as acquisition and repair of vintage items like our Norden bomb sight.
5) Grants and Fund-raising: Restoration of vintage aircraft and the vision of our new world-class World War II museum/hangar will require a great deal of money. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization it is an on-going task to seek out individual and corporate sponsors who are willing to make tax-deductible contributions that will help us reach our goals. We appreciate any contact information we might utilize in reaching our goals.
6) Air Group One is growing fast. We welcome new members. Remember, you don't have to be a pilot or veteran to join.
